This week's featured contest
The prize in this contest is two round-trip economy-class tickets to anywhere Air Transat flies, plus four nights’ hotel accommodations, $1,000 in spending money and a $1,000 Aldo gift card. Open to Canadian residents of legal age, with some restrictions. The deadline is coming up quickly—enter by July 7, 2025.
P.S.: I’m not quite sure what happened with last week’s contest. It was up and running when I tested the link right before sending the newsletter, but shortly after that, the contest organizer took it down. My apologies.
Tiptoe through the lavender
Early July is prime season for visiting (and smelling!) a lavender farm. Fortunately, there are lots of lavender fields around Ottawa—including a new one within the city limits. Depending on the farm, you can buy lavender bouquets, book a photo session among the plants, enjoy a fancy picnic, pick up lavender bath products and more.
Heads Up: New Porter flights, big yard sale, bistro closure
In this week’s Heads Up post, you’ll learn about Porter Airlines’ five (!) new non-stop flights from Ottawa to sunshine destinations. You’ll also get the scoop on the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, a new hiking trail in Renfrew and a summer restaurant promotion in the Glebe. Plus you’ll find out which Eastern Ontario community is trying to set a record for World’s Biggest Yard Sale and which charming bistro in SDG is (sadly) about to close its doors.
